Description
Galveston Texas --By Doug Kreuger
This artwork is a compilation of photos I took on March 25, 2013 while visiting Galveston Island.
The Republic of Texas incorporated the City of Galveston in1839.
Galveston's advantageous location, historical significance and tourist attractions continue to make it a popular get-away destination for folks from all around.
Pictured from left to right: Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, 1892 Bishop's Palace, Old Galveston Square at the corner of The Strand and Tremont, 1895 Moody Mansion.
Galveston contains one of the largest and historically significant collections of 19th-century buildings in the United States.
The starfish and conch shell are representative of Galveston's beaches--renowned for their cleanliness and warm water.
