Lovely image! It seems to be depicting contradiction_the peaceful life of the birds in nature while a machine in the background is busy making straw bales.

Artist's Description

“Hoping for Leftovers” –Dedicated to Randy Rosenberg, Administrator of the Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery Group

My inspiration for creating “Hoping for Leftovers” came from a photograph entitled “Another Bale Out” belonging to my dear friend, Randy. When I first saw “Another Bale Out” I was attracted by the cleverness of Randy’s punny satirical title; apropos to U.S. Government Bailouts. I also liked the bright autumn colors, and the way in which the foreground trees framed the golden farm field.

After Randy gifted me with a digital file (of my choosing) Dec. 2012, I expressed an interest in using this image as a basis to paint my vision. Out of respect for Randy’s work, I strived to retain the integrity of his original image, while adding my own design elements and digital brushstrokes to his composition.

So here it is, a year later; My Tribute to “Another Bale Out”:

Doug Kreuger

Doug Kreuger, Landscape Artist Member of Oil Painters of America Doug was born in, Aberdeen, South Dakota, and grew up in Hazel Crest, Illinois. From early childhood, Doug demonstrated a strong interest in drawing, painting, and building things. Throughout his school years, Doug excelled in all his art classes, winning numerous awards and recognition for his artistic abilities. 

Upon graduating from high school, Doug became a student at The American Academy of Art, Chicago, where he studied commercial graphics, life drawing and watercolors. 

Doug's first job as a professional artist was with Unigraf, a company that specialized in designing P.O.P (point-of-purchase) displays and display graphics. Doug left that company...
