"Mallards Lake"
Willow Brook Lake was my inspiration for painting "Mallards Lake". This tranquil setting is mostly hidden from the public's view, as it is surrounded by private property in the Willow Brook Estates subdivision in Crete, Illinois.
Summer, Winter, Spring & fall treat property owner's and their guests to a wide variety of changing seasonal views. Deer, ducks, geese and other wildlife add further enjoyment of the landscape.
There's a certain primal fascination and wonderment that goes with the viewing of a beautiful sunrise and sunset.
Watching the radiant display of colors, as the sun slowly disappears from the sky in the evening, then rise again in the morning, is the perfect way to celebrate the ending and beginning of each new day.

About Doug Kreuger
Doug Kreuger, Landscape Artist Member of Oil Painters of America Doug was born in, Aberdeen, South Dakota, and grew up in Hazel Crest, Illinois. From early childhood, Doug demonstrated a strong interest in drawing, painting, and building things. Throughout his school years, Doug excelled in all his art classes, winning numerous awards and recognition for his artistic abilities. 

Upon graduating from high school, Doug became a student at The American Academy of Art, Chicago, where he studied commercial graphics, life drawing and watercolors. 

Doug's first job as a professional artist was with Unigraf, a company that specialized in designing P.O.P (point-of-purchase) displays and display graphics. Doug left that company...
