It's early evening and the sun is gilding this landscape with alluring tones of Golden color. A single stone path winds its way among Evening Primroses and toward an abandoned home in its declining years. I call it "Primrose Path".
I find that not all Primrose Paths lead to calamity, great loss, or misfortune. Instead, I see a reminiscent beauty in the layers of peeling paint, weathering boards and rusting metal, the natural progression of the past assimilating with the present.
When I see a home and its surrounding grounds in this state of disrepair, I ponder their earlier years of sheltering their former occupants. It's easy for me to visualize the property as it perhaps once was: neatly manicured and with "All Its Ducks in a Row".

Doug, we have an old abandoned house similar to this one in the woods over here. When the grand kids were younger, the wife and I would take them out to visit "the haunted house". You can imagine the fun we had with that one.....more gold brother....L/V
Doug Kreuger replied:
Thanks Dave! I have had many people tell me this house reminded them of one they used to live near. I was definitely going for the "gold" with this one—The early-evening sundown sort, I mean! LOL…

Doug Kreuger replied:
Thanks for your great comment Ronda! It would probably take me longer to complete this picture—as a puzzle—than it took me to paint? ((-: LOL…
