Description
From the first time I saw the Boynton "Peace Chapel", I was attracted to its rustic old-world charm. Nestled at the foot of the surrounding towering trees, this small wooden church with its decorative carvings becons visitors to take a closer look.
Built in 1939 by Winifred and Donald Boynton as a "Sanctuary of Peace", the chapel became a 9-year labor of love that included the helping hands of their children and guests.
I am profoundly impressed and fascinated by the amount of intriquely hand-carved and painted works of art inside the chapel. I can fully appreciate the amount of time and determination that is required to accomplish such an endeavor.
I decided to paint "From This Day Forward" as a way of continuing and sharing the Boynton's legacy with others. My attention to details is my way of inviting you to take a closer look.
