Description
"Sundown on Lake Wisconsin"
– Merrimac, WI
Photographed August 2002 from the back of friend's, (Jim & Cindy) pontoon. We were headed back from enjoying an evening boat ride on Lake Wisconsin, near Merrimac, when we were treated to this spectacular sunset. The highlighted ripples on the water's surface were a result of the pontoon's wake.
Crossing the lake (part of the Wisconsin River) in the distance is an old iron bridge owned by the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad.

Breathtaking! Makes me homesick for Wisconsin. L/F
Doug Kreuger replied:
Thanks Marilyn, Hoping to see you again next year. There's something magical about a sunset over water, and how the effect is doubled in the reflection.

Such beautiful rich tones in this capture. Love the silhouettes of the bridge in the background. Also the ripples and clouds give it a nice texture! Very nice!

Doug---love the golden sparkles in this--and the distant beautiful view--a fave--took another vote.
Doug Kreuger replied:
Thank you Nava Jo. This sunset scene is extra special for me. When I view it now, the dancing sparkles remind me of my dear friend Cindy who was with us on the boat at the time I took this photograph. Sadly, Cindy passed away in September 3013. She is deeply missed my her many close friends and family.
