Description
"Skywalker" -by Doug Kreuger
Painted November 2017 as a birthday gift for my son, Bryan.
Skywalker is a 7-year-old male Great Pyrenees--rescued by my son’s family in 2015.
A previous owner had originally named this dog "Darth Vader" after the main villain in the Star Wars movies .
When my granddaughters saw how gentle this large white dog was, and how softly he stepped, they changed his name to "Skywalker". (A much more fitting name for this gentle giant.)
My son’s wife, Jolene, made the Stars Wars blanket Skywalker is laying on in this painting.
When Skywalker was rescued he weighed a sickly 68 pounds. Today Skywalker tips the scale at a healthy 130 pounds, and will peacefully live his remaining years under the loving care and comforts of my son’s family.
