“Koi Friends”
--Digital painting by Doug Kreuger
My inspiration for creating this artwork came from my brother’s koi ponds. Watching koi swim can be a fun and relaxing experience. The variety in size colors and distinctive markings make it enjoyable for picking one’s personal favorites.
Back and forth, around and around, criss-crossing, coming together and separating, over and over again, swimming koi resemble a slurry of paint colors that won’t mix. Graceful Chaos would be another way to describe this innate behavior.
Rather or not these koi are real friends, or simply touching fins in passing, they are performing for your pleasure---and a strong desire to be fed.

Beautiful art that sways with a golden glow. Interesting description Doug---"---swimming Koi resemble a slurry of paint colors that won't mix." That is something to think about. Thanks for sharing 'Koi Friends' beauty with us. LVF

Thank you very much, Nava, for being the first to comment on my newest artwork. I'll have to post another image to show what I mean when I say, "...a slurry of colors that won't mix". Imagine shimmering yellows, oranges, reds and whites--- all mottled with varying shades of black, swirling as if being stirred, yet, never blending. ---like watching a kaleidoscope. Ever-changing its design.
