Description
"Grand View Scenic Overlook"
—Ellison Bay, Door County WI
One of my many favorite stops on Door County Peninsula is Grand View Scenic Overlook. From atop of this bluff, visitors are treated to a breathtaking vista of Ellison Bay, Green Bay and distant forested bluffs beyond. Located along Hwy 42, at the entrance of what was once The Grand View Lodge, was rededicated (June 2013) as "Grand View Scenic Overlook and Park" providing it with permanent property protection. I imagine this natural geographic formation to be a romantic place for couple to get engaged and wedding vows exchanged.
Looking out over the treetops one gets a real sense of looking back in time, seeing what previous generations of travelers saw when they first wandered these same scenic bluffs. It's a Grand feeling to know that this property is now protected from commercial development, to be enjoyed by future generations to come.

You are such a talented artist. I never believed any of your works are painting - especially the texture of the grasses and the leaves. The lawn look so soft you want to sit and relax. L/f
