Description
"Morning Graze"
As the morning sun shines in the pasture, dew evaporates to create a gossamer-like veil over the landscape. As these cows graze in the haze, they appear to be calm and contented in their bountiful surroundings.
Pictured prominently in the foreground is an old, post-mounted, cast iron bell—sounded when needed to call both the farmer and his cows in from the fields. I can almost hear it ringing as I peer into this scene.
My inspiration for painting "Morning Graze" came from some old photographs that were given to me by a dear friend, Cindy Pepper. This farm belongs Cindy's father, Bob Zimmerman of Hudson, Illinois.
