Artist's Description

"CHIEF"

-- An Original Digital Oil Portrait by Doug Kreuger

Chief belongs to my daughter and son-in-law, living in Texas. He is a large, friendly, handsome, Austrian Black and Tan Hound-mix, weighing over 100 lbs.

Chief gets his name from Chief Illiniwek, the controversial former mascot of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (UIUC). Which is also the school where my daughter and son-in-law met and graduated.

Chief loves to go for long walks… receiving lots of attention from passing strangers who want to know his breed, while commenting on his good looks and friendly behavior.

Chief is also great around our young grandson & granddaughter; being extra gentle & tolerant when having his tail and ears pulled.
