"Chicago's Tallest"

---Original Photography by Doug Kreuger

Photographed March 2013 from the103rd floor of the Willis (Sears) Tower Skydeck Chicago.

This view is looking northeast towards The John Hancock Center and Lake Michigan beyond. From this vantage point, many of Chicago's tallest and most recognized buildings can be seen, including: Trump Tower, John Hancock Center, Wrigley Building, Marina Towers, Tribune Tower, IBM Plaza, 900 North Michigan, One Prudential Plaza (formerly the Prudential Building), Two Prudential Plaza, Smurfit-Stone Building (rear view) Aon Center (formerly the Standard Oil Building), Lake Point Tower, among others.

For those who are more familiar with Chicago architecture, many more landmark building names and addresses will be known.

In this artwork, my attempt is to produce the illusion; one is looking outward over the city through modern window frames in a high-rise office/residence.

Doug Kreuger

Doug Kreuger, Landscape Artist Member of Oil Painters of America Doug was born in, Aberdeen, South Dakota, and grew up in Hazel Crest, Illinois. From early childhood, Doug demonstrated a strong interest in drawing, painting, and building things. Throughout his school years, Doug excelled in all his art classes, winning numerous awards and recognition for his artistic abilities. 

Upon graduating from high school, Doug became a student at The American Academy of Art, Chicago, where he studied commercial graphics, life drawing and watercolors. 

Doug's first job as a professional artist was with Unigraf, a company that specialized in designing P.O.P (point-of-purchase) displays and display graphics. Doug left that company...
