Officially the Berlin Conference, held in Potsdam, Brandenburg, Germany, took place from July 16 to August 2, 1945. Attended by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, US President Harry Truman and Soviet Leader Josef Stalin.
The issues discussed were:
1) Allied control of defeated Germany
2) Reparations
3) The Oder-Neisse Line (rivers boundary between Germany and Poland)
4) Russia joining the war in the Far East.
I remember feeling a sense of awe, standing in the same room where these 3 world leaders once sat, listening to our tour guide tell us about the important decisions that were made, pertaining to the look of a post-war Germany.
After the conference ended, Soviet troops used the palace as a clubhouse. In 1952 It was handed over to the state of Brandenburg. The government of Eastern Germany also...
Doug Kreuger, Landscape Artist Member of Oil Painters of America Doug was born in, Aberdeen, South Dakota, and grew up in Hazel Crest, Illinois. From early childhood, Doug demonstrated a strong interest in drawing, painting, and building things. Throughout his school years, Doug excelled in all his art classes, winning numerous awards and recognition for his artistic abilities. 

Upon graduating from high school, Doug became a student at The American Academy of Art, Chicago, where he studied commercial graphics, life drawing and watercolors. 

Doug's first job as a professional artist was with Unigraf, a company that specialized in designing P.O.P (point-of-purchase) displays and display graphics. Doug left that company...

Amazing shot of this historic place, thanks for sharing the history as well. After living in Berlin for 3 years, I am always interested in pictures and history from there. I enjoyed my time there, even though it was years ago. Would really like to go back to visit.
