You know fall will arrive soon when the Goldenrod is in bloom.
To see these golden-colored plumes up close are wonderful enough, but to see an entire field covered... is Spectacular!
Wait just a moment and you might also see a flock wild birds rise from the brush, only to descend again a few yards away. Keep watching, as this will happen again and again. How do I know this? Because it happened to me while I was trying to photograph this DARNED scene without the birds in it!
Don't get me wrong, I love birds, but these fowl friends kept spoiling my shots every time I clicked my camera. I thought, perhaps, it was the snapping sound of the shutter closing & opening that kept alerting these birds, so I began clapping my hands and making loud noises. It Worked! The birds moved on and I got my shots. Then I painted this landscape, but something was missing... until I added the birds. (Mother Nature had it right to begin with.)

Thanks Nava! This field used to be covered with young trees and tall weeds. The land was cleared and planted for deer herds to graze. There is a mowed 5-mile walking path through this area. Very peaceful, indeed.
