Description
''Castles In The Sky''
My inspiration for creating ''Castles In The Sky'' came from a large cast iron doorstop my brother uses for a garden decoration. This ornamental piece dates back to the mid-1900s. --Popular in the days before air conditioning. I found a painted version of this item for sale on the Internet, however, I much prefer the rich, natural look of the rust patina shown on the one my brother owns.
In this artwork, ''Castles In The Sky'' refers to both the castle depicted on the doorstop and my brother's home pictured in the background. Because, my brother and his wife treat their guests royally---making you feel very welcomed and important. When guests stay overnight, they sleep upstairs in a bedroom that overlooks some of the most beautiful flowering gardens and fishponds found in their plant kingdom.
I find it curious that the only difference between an ordinary place and a Grand Palace can be one little letter and a whole lot of heart.

Thanks again Nava! I find it amusing how drastically different 1 letter can make in the meaning of a single word.
