Description
"California Dream'n" —1957 Chevy Bel Air Nomad
Inspired by the Roy Orbison song, entitled, “California Blue”, “California Dream’n” was created specifically for a Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery Group discussion: Contest To Match Photo With Song, Lyrics…
Given that I have family living in California, and that I have always been interested vintage and classic cars, I found special delight in creating this composition. I hope you enjoy it, too!

Magnificent capture and digital special effects, Doug! Wonderful reflections and sparkle! Love how the surf board almost completes the California Dream! Just needs blond-haired blue-eyed tanned 20-yr-old Doug Kreuger in the front seat! L/F
Doug Kreuger replied:
Hanne, I Love your kind words and creative imagination. If my memory serves me right, there might have been a young blond in the front seat? Thanks for your embellishing thoughts.

Doug---congratulations on your WFS contest win! This looks like you are ready to go on vacation---at least in your dreams---back in time. Many of us would choose to go with you----at least I have a fair country idea that we would. LVF
Doug Kreuger replied:
Thanks Nava… If only it were mine to take… Given that my parents did own a few station wagons when I was growing up, and we did go on many vacations—all eleven of us including Dad & Mom—I do have many great memories to dream about. PS: I'm not familiar with the expression " fair country idea", what does it mean?
Doug Kreuger replied:
It would't be possible to take those same family trips with today's seatbelt & child carseat laws…Oh, and there wouldn't be room for a surfboard either! LOL…

Beautiful job Doug. Mine was a Bel Air 2 door hardtop, a sweet turquois and white with a 283 punched out to a 301...4 speed...ahhh yes, those were the days....gold to you brother....L/V
Doug Kreuger replied:
Thanks Dave! I wish I could say this classic wagon was mine. My parents owned a 1956 Chartreuse & Black Bel Air Station Wagon. I remember gas station attendants having trouble finding the gas filler—it was hidden behind the driver's side taillight. I was happy when they traded it in on a new blue Ford Wagon. I was too young at the time to appreciate its beautiful body design.
